Professional Installation for most brands of dog fence.

Installing your Petfence

Your Pet Fence will consist of three primary components:-

  • Fence transmitter
  • Receiver
  • Boundary Wire

All systems work by sending a radio signal through the boundary cable. The amount of area covered and signal that can be achieved will depend on the type of dog fence you have purchased.

It is important to carefully consider the location of the transmitter and also the placement of any underground wires or pipes that may interfere with your pet fence signal. Your system will have a range adjustment to allow for the “no go area” to be increased or decreased; this will depend on your property size, breed of dog or cat and type of containment system. Systems will differ with reaction time (speed of activation) and time out (shut down time). The PetFence installer will assess and advise on the optimum location for your transmitter and boundary wire. Where possible the cable will be buried using the discreet installation equipment.

There are many variations on the route for the boundary cable. The diagram below shows a standard installation with an inner loop around the play area.

Your system should be supplied with at least 20 training flags per 100m of cable supplied. Once your dog fence has been installed you may begin training by inserting your training flags and training your dog as per your manufactures handbook.

Accessories, cable and additional flags and most type of pet fence batteries can by purchased from our online shop.
